§ 5-117. Exemption from article provisions.

The provisions of this article shall not apply to any firearms practice range or facility of any sort which:
(1)

Is owned and operated by the United States, the State of Texas or any department or political subdivision thereof; and

(2)

Is utilized exclusively for the purpose of training and qualifying peace officers and persons in training to become peace officers.
