§ 1. Adoption of certain state law.

The terms, powers and provisions of the Act passed at the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, relating to street improvements and assessments therefor, and being Chapter 106 of the General and Special Laws of said Session, are hereby adopted, embraced in and made a part of the Charter of the City of Houston, and such powers, terms and provisions shall exist, be in force, and may be exercised by the governing body of the City of Houston as alternative to and independent of other powers, terms and provisions of the charter of the City of Houston, with amendments thereto, and which in anywise relate to the same subject matter.
